West Berkshire Enterprise Award 2010
Susan Hofgartner, The Pink Bin Lady, is delighted to announce that Brilliant Bins has won the West Berkshire Enterprise Award for 2010. Susan was presented with the specially designed trophy by Councillor Joe Moody at the Business Ambassador Awards in Newbury on Monday 11th October.
West Berkshire Council created the award in 2008 to recognise and reward excellence in business during these times of economic uncertainty. The West Berkshire Council 'Enterprise Award' is presented to a West Berkshire business that has achieved 'excellence' over the last 12 months.
The winner for 2010 is Susan Hofgartner of Brilliant Bins.
2010 is the third year that the award has been presented, in 2009 the winner was Newbury Racecourse.
Councillor Keith Chopping said: "What we are looking for is a Small or Medium-sized Enterprise that has that little bit extra and which we all recognise as contributing to the business environment of West Berkshire".
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises are eligible. Based on the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills definitions, these are firms with less than 250 employees. The award is judged by a panel of local community and business leaders. These include:
Councillor Keith Chopping - Executive Member for Finance, Economic Development, Property, Health and Safety, West Berkshire Council, Amanda Richards - Chief Executive of the Education Business Partnership, Phillip Kenny - Federation of Small Businesses, Pete Atkinson - West Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, Ed Cooper - Thames Valley Innovation and Growth Team.
